EEG Acquisition

MERLN is capable of acquiring several different types of EEG:

• Routine or extended EEG recordings, with or without video, up to 72 hours. Set-up and removal for video and EEG is conducted in the patient’s home or site of the clinical trial

• Stimulation procedures (photic, hyperventilation, or sponsor-specified) are available. Potential for including specific testing requested by the sponsor

• Raw video and EEG data review by an expert Registered EEG Technologist. Interpretation services are available.

We offer raw data, clipped data, and both, with and without a technical or professional interpretation. Modules allowing remote deployment of EP protocols are currently under development and can be customized for you and your study’s needs.

Biomarker Services

MERLN can search for possible EEG biomarkers related to a disease state, pharmacological treatment, or other intervention.

For biomarker development, MERLN staff will meet with you prior to study execution to help design data acquisition protocols based on your specific targets, which could include:

• The impact on EEG of exposure to a target agent (possible compliance metric, data regarding specific brain effects)

• EEG changes related to specific brain states (presence or absence of a disease state, treatment effect or lack thereof of a specific agent, changes in any of the aforementioned over time).

Our team performs a detailed review of existing literature to discover what is already known, if anything, about possible changes to the EEG differentiating the two states.
